WHAT’S YOUR STYLE?

Vibrant, dreamy, timeless. My images reflect my love of golden light, rich sunsets, and helping you to look naturally gorgeous! While I absolutely adore the process of hanging with you taking the photos, my favorite part is when I bring them to life through the editing process. I spend hours post processing - perfecting each and every photo to make a piece of art unique to YOU. You can expect your final gallery to consist of vibrant, dramatic yet natural photos that capture the intimate moments between you and your loved ones and stand out among the rest.

WHAT DO WE WEAR?

First and most important, BE COMFORTABLE!  There is nothing worse than a dress that you have to constantly adjust or new shoes that are not broken in yet.  For colder months, make sure your little ones are dressed for it. I highly suggest layers! The key for family portraits is to coordinate outfits, not match. Avoid neon clothes and logos. I am here to help so feel free to reach out with options or questions. If you see something you like, let me know and I will send you links of potential places to purchase from.

 

WHAT DO WE BRING?

 Your smiling, happy self and family!  Seriously, this will be a fun time.  No need to stress yourself or the kiddos.

Something cold and clear to drink is a good idea.  Fruit punch on your white shirt will not help morale.  Clean snacks such as popcorn or crackers are great too if your session is close to dinner and you think it might help with attitudes for your little ones…or adults!  Let’s get real here, I get fussy if no one feeds me too! Bribery is highly recommended! For babies or toddlers, a noisy toy to grab attention is a good idea as well.

A towel or tissue to blot sweaty faces can’t hurt either.

WHAT TIME DO WE PLAN OUR SHOOT AT?

If you take a peak through my portfolio, you will notice the photos are rich and warm in color. This is because I prefer to shoot at what is called the "golden hour". An hour before sunset is when the magic truly happens and I prefer not to shoot any earlier. I understand this may make it hard on little ones with an early bedtime, so I highly recommend a late nap or some good bribery! They usually end up having so much fun they stay occupied and sleep even harder for you come bedtime! If this is something you cant swing, just let me know and we can explore other options.

 

DO YOU RESCHEDULE FOR WEATHER?

Welcome to Minnesota…if you don’t like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change!  All joking aside, I keep a close eye on the weather forecast the day of your session and try to plan accordingly.  If there is a slight (less that 50%) chance of rain we will go ahead as planned. More than that we will watch the radar and work around the rain.  We can shoot on covered decks and gazebos if need be.  If we do get rained out, your deposit will be transferred to another date.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

Engagement and family photos will be available for online viewing approximately three weeks after the shoot.  Weddings normally take 4-6 weeks.

I'M WORKING ON A BUDGET, WILL YOU GIVE ME A DISCOUNT?

Our packages have been carefully curated and priced according to their value, so the short answer is "No". However, after deposit is paid we do offer the remaining balance to be payed in increments leading up to your session date.

I DON’T PHOTOGRAPH WELL AND AM SUPER AWKWARD—CAN YOU HELP ME?

Yes, of course! I understand that you might not have experience being photographed and I'm here to help.  Through my easy shooing style and natural posing, I make sure that you look natural and lovely in your photos.  Some people take a little longer to warm up, and in those cases I make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed while we are shooting. I promise, I make it painless and fun, and it won't be nearly as bad as you think!

YOU’RE THE PHOTOGRAPHER FOR US! HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR WEDDING OR PORTRAIT DATE?

Great!  The next step is to fill out the contact form to let me know your date so I can check my availability.  Once we select the best package for you, I will send you a contract to sign and instructions on how to pay the retainer.  I cannot hold any date for either a portrait or a wedding without both the retainer and contract completed.  I can't wait to work with you!
